Weapons Engineering
Nova Systems has developed an integrated team of Explosive Ordnance Design engineers and is one of the major suppliers of this specialist engineering field to the ADF. Nova’s engineering team undertakes detailed design analysis of weapons and explosive ordnance components to ensure the highest levels of safety, reliability and sustainability are attained. Recent changes to the ADF explosive ordnance design process have been inculcated into Nova’s engineering processes to allow efficient and comprehensive product delivery.
The engineering and weapons design capability is a significant enabler to Nova’s expertise in test and evaluation. When combined with Nova’s subject matter experts in Aircraft Stores Compatibility Engineering and platform Certification, this enables the provision of a complete multi-disciplinary team to support weapons integration projects and through life support.
Nova can provide specialist training on all aspects of explosive ordnance and weapons integration. This includes the ability to develop specific courseware to enable Projects and Project Offices to target specific requirements for explosive ordnance and weapons integration. Nova has completed the following significant tasks:
- Integration of the M134D Minigun to the CH-47D Chinook
- Aircraft Stores Compatibility, Test and Evaluation and Project Management Support to Project Echidna
- Predominant supplier of specialist Explosive Ordnance Design Engineering to NGEOSPO-GWEO
